Organisational Information Systems Sequence

Breadth in Organisational Information Systems will equip you with the sort of knowledge that Australia’s top employers look for. The following are some examples of subjects in the sequence. You can choose from one to six subjects in Organisational Information Systems as breadth. These subjects are available as breadth for Commerce, Arts, Music, Science, Biomedicine and Environments.

University Breadth Subject

The breadth subject UNIB10005 Internet Meets Society explores the many ways in which the internet has influenced modern society, and how society has given rise to the internet. This subject examines the rise and implications of new digital media and social networking such as MySpace and Facebook. You will look at art and commerce online and examine the complex legal, ethical, and political issues which arise through activity on the internet.

Internet Meets Society is one of eleven university breadth offerings, the others being: Australian Indigenous Studies, An Ecological History of Humanity, Catastrophes, Cultures and the Angry Earth, Critical Thinking with Data, Food for A Healthy Planet, Generating the Wealth of Nations, Introduction to Climate Change, Logic: Language and Information, Poetics of the Body 1 and Seeing – the Whole Picture.

In course planning for your breadth studies it is important that you seek advice from course advisors at your Student Centre and also check whether the particular subjects are permissible as breadth in your degree.
